I use Dawn dish liquid. Different cleaners contains different chemicals, some more harsh than others, which in turn would effect your skin. Dawn is pretty gentle, and I have never had an issue with my hands, they seem pretty smooth.

...cleaning dishes...? The dish-wash bars (soap), Scouring Powder or Liquid cleaners?

Which is the best option...for both the utensils and the hands?

My part-time help (now on a vacation) insists on the bar...but to my chagrin I found the skin of my hands flaking! Could those different cleaners have different action on different skins? Why?

Please guide me gently!

Thanks :)

Well, definitely i'm no lady, but i do wash my dishes? (and my hands are pretty well pretty as well... hah-hah-hahh!)

I usually buy this liquid dish-washing detergent (specially for washing dishes only) with lemon scent. It's mild and not harsh at all. Doesn't flake nor dry the skin. Leaves a fresh scent on the hands. Hmmm, (*touching my hands and fingers now*... yeah, they are still as soft). And neither hardens or roughens the skin

There are strong granulated and bar soaps that even cause skin rashes. Those you use on washing clothes? Yeah, don't use those.

Our dearest Param hi!)))))
I had experienced too the worst prickly cuts and itchy sores choosing the wrong dish washing soaps and cleaners.
Almost every responsible women in their households here try to use improved liquid washer at the present, and it's usually indicated outside the label if it is gentle and good for the hands. When the liquid soap washer is concentrated, then to make it milder we tend to mix it with water in another plastic container then use it in washing dishes and other kitchen utensils.
It's quite amazing though it has been developed but it can also easily clear stains and greases than manufactured products from the past, while it conditions the skin.
The quality seem to be made from by mixing an amount of natural extracts like from coconuts and other fruits such as oranges or grapefruits and other essential herbs..

We just became naturally accustomed to it every changing season..
Usually after doing all the chores, I end up using a hand cream or a modest amount of oil or lotion to lightly massage it on my hands and fingers..
Sometimes, when we're out there it also seem that the hands also catches the eye of others. However, if we have the chance to care for them until we can to make it feel healthier and look better, then perhaps it's also worth of some of the effort and attention as women..
Wishing you lovely times..HuGs!!
