If anyone has bought and played Ozmafia, is it worth it? The price is really expensive (to me at least because of where I live). It went over my budget. *cries*
I am willing to buy the game (despite being really super duper broke at the moment) to support the developers (for them to release more otome games). However, I'm worried that it won't be well spent. T^T

Well the art is beautiful, good voice actors awesome characters, the bad things people didn't like is the fact that there is routes where our heroine can cheat with other characters but that is completely avoidable, and from what i understood some character stories are better then others, all in all i can say it is worth it, but if you are broke you can always wait until they have sales!

Ozmafia is getting great reviews, apparently the translation is very well done, but I'd never pay that much for an otome game tbh. It will probably go on sale eventually, you can get Amnesia for like $5 USD these days. If you reeeeally want to buy it soon I'd do it quickly because it's still 15% off.

Honestly, I tried the Japanese version and only got to play 2 and a half routes. It might be because I wanted to leave the routes reviewers said were the best (Axel and Caesar) for last, but I got really bored and there was little romance. I didn't even get to play the guys I wanted to play, I got through Caramia/Kyrie and half of the brothel route... I wanted to buy the English version to support the developers, but Dandelion and Nameless are 100% voiced and have high quality translation/voice actors/art/everything. Knowing that Dandelion, arguably my favorite Otome game, is $30 and Ozmafia is more expensive than that even though it doesn't have the same quality as Dandelion... Not buying.

yes, plus dandelion and nameless never get significant discounts despite being out for several years. i can't predict whether ozmafia will offer discounts in the future but it's already starting off cheaper for people who buy it early, so...

and personally, as someone who loves both of those games, i'd say ozmafia has higher quality art (especially over nameless, which had very inconsistent CGs and some of them are straight up ugly), and absolutely has a higher quality translation. i wouldn't even call the translations for dandelion and nameless "high quality", they're just acceptable. ozmafia's translation blows them out of the water, it's a proper localization with natural-sounding writing. everyone is voiced except for the protagonist, the voice acting is great and the music is nice too. i get people being iffy about paying so much for a visual novel but the game isn't some low quality trash lol.

It's not fully-voiced though. In Ozmafia, about halfway through some of the routes the voices just straight up disappear, and sometimes you will hear a voiced line, then a scene without voices, and then the voices come in again. It's like they decided to add stuff after finishing the recordings. Yes, I know Nameless can be a clusterfuck in some aspects such as art (let's be real here, the only outstanding art there is the one drawn by Dandelion's artist, and Lance had the luck to get all of his CGs drawn by her), and that's why I took Dandelion as reference. Ozmafia's base price is higher than these two games', and right now it's only less than $1 cheaper than them. Honestly, I paid for Dandelion and pirated Nameless, and I would rather pay for Nameless than for Ozmafia, seeing that I got so bored playing the Japanese version I didn't even get through 3 routes. I'll give the game another chance once it's up for download, and start with the interesting characters this time, ffs lol but I'm not ready to throw that much money on a game that left a rather meh impression on me the first time around. I wouldn't have as many troubles paying for it if it weren't for my nationality, the dollar's price in Colombia rn is fucked up.

Those people needs to get over it. I personally like the fact that you can make the heroine do not so savory acts. I'm tired of the pure pure otome maidens all the time.

I hope no one pirates Ozmafia, atleast for a long time. Or else kiss your chances of other otome games being translated and licenced goodbye.

I have an idea of who the reviewer you are talking about because I read a review before (mostly just to check and confirm who had a route) and that was her main complain, oh well some people has their taste.

I don't think anything you can say will deter piracy from happening. It's been like that forever.

I'll be buying it once it goes on sale again (and hopefully, I will have the money too by then) but I can't speak for everyone else.
