I am not saying that YOU (the requester) are desperate for Backstage Pass.
I am only responding to your problem where you said you cannot use the persistent or follow my instructions on using persistent because you do not have the game
I am only responding to your claim that you cannot use the persistent for the aforementioned game because you claim you do not have the game.
I am only responding to your claim that you do not have the game because there is no demo provided by the game makers.
Since you made such a claim, I replied based on:
a) the 3 possible reasons you may have for making this claim
b) my past experiences in dealing with people making such claims.
Regarding point (b), my experience over the years in my job, real life and online is this:
people are VERY lazy and MOST expect things to be given to them.
This is why I stress that instead of saying you cannot use the persistent because you do not have the game, you MUST use your own effort to find the game yourself first and not expect it to be given to you at the metaphorical snap of your fingers when you ask for it.
Because of my experience in (b), 9 out of 10 times, I have noticed that people keep asking for the SAME THING because they do not refer back to previous pages where there are working links or where people have made THE SAME requests. When it is pointed out to these 9/10 people that there is a working link in a previous page because many others have asked for the same thing in the past, these 9/10 people will ALMOST ALWAYS say that they do not have time to search previous pages OR they searched only one or two pages and gave up because it's too much effort.
Based on my experiences in (b), I analysed that the 9/10 requesters who make the claim that they can't find the game or can't use howler/persistent because they do not have the game, ALMOST ALWAYS fall into 3 categories:
i) not desperate
ii) very desperate
iii) very desperate BUT only want the latest version.
The people who fall into (i) are not desperate. This means they can wait for anyone to give them game. Even if the game comes out years later, they will wait and be grateful. Even if the game shared is a buggy first version, they are grateful and will accept.
Very few people fall into category (i) in my experience and observation.
The people who fall into (ii) are very desperate. Many people fall into this group. They want the game at all costs. Even if the game is not the latest version, they will take it because they are desperate for it.
These people make do with whatever is given to them. So long as they get to play the game in some form, they will be satisfied.
The people who fall into (iii) are desperate AND fussy. Most people fall into this group in my experience too. They want the game at all costs, but if the game is not the version they want, not in a downloadable link that is good for their, not bug-free etc, they will whinge about it.
Often these people are the ones who complain that it is too much work to look for the game themselves; that it is too much work for them to search previous pages for the game they want etc.
Unless they get exactly what they want, in the way they want it, when they want it, these people ARE NOT satisfied.
Since I do not know which category you fell under, I listed all 3 categories, including possible reactions and what not having the game you seek means each category.
