am i being silly for being upset that my wife is going on an overseas

holiday without me? we have been together for 4yrs and married for 6 months. We moved interstate shortly after being married and decided not to go on an elaberate honeymoon due to the move. We had discussed the possibility of going overseas but decided against it. She has now booked a trip to europe to catch up with a friend and told me that she would prefer to go without me as she wanted to have time alone with an old friend. Since that I got very upset and she has decide that i can go but I now feel uncomfortable about going. I have never been overseas, she has travelled th world. This has put a huge strain on our relationship and left me confused. I would never have gone on holiday without my wife but am now considering a trip on my own maybe this would make us both feel better?
 
I think you are perfectly right to be concerned, your wife's actions are not good, in fact they are very destructive and she needs to get a very fast grip on reality if she wants the marriage to last. I suggest she cancels that trip asap and you and her get some marital counselling or else i don't give you more than a couple of years together.
 
you're not being silly in feeling upset. but i think it's a mistake to go with her. she wants to be with her friend + you'll end up feeling "in the way" + she might feel you're too clingy. Yes i think you should try to find something to do or somewhere to go on your own. personally i dont think its healthy to be dependent on one person to go everywhere with
