I was at a bar mitzvah and i was sitting with a bunch of people, and i told a horrible joke. Everyone was making jew jokes, i think mine came off a bit worse though.

I said there is nothing funny about jews, My grandfather died in aushwitz.

He fell off the guard tower shooting at the jews.

(I dunno if this makes me a racist! Everyone got silent maybe it was because i wasn't a jew!)
 
No because the holocaust was fake (THIS IS A JOKE GET IT???), well maybe not fake but 6 million jews did not die, that number is greatly over exaggerated, this is a fact. (I am Jewish)

The holocaust death figures of Jews is far less than 6 million (Do not attempt to argue this - Did I mention I am Jewish).

It only makes you a racist if you hate jews in actual everyday life and go out of your way to show it. Other than that it sounded like a joke made in bad taste or in front of people who don't know you that well.

A racist is someone who physically goes out of their way to prove their hatred of another race for one reason or another. Such as that old white supremacists who shot that black security guard at the Holocaust museum a few weeks back.

We are all racists in our own minds even around our own peers, but to actually go out of your way to do something detrimental to someone based simply on the color of their skin then that's racist.

other than that i don't want people on here fooling themselves by claiming that they have never had a racist thought go through their heads. It doesn't make you a racist.

thinking about killing someone does not make you a murderer; going out of your way to actually commit such act does.
 
not really a racist joke, but that probably wasn't the best time or place to say that haha. tho is is kinda funny. I guess also, in a way, everyone is a bit racist.

its a funny joke, but you cant make racist jokes in front of people of that race. just another life lesson.
 
Not necessarily racist but certainly in poor taste for the occasion. Everyone got silent because you hit a painful nerve. Quite tacky of you. Hope you apologized or at least learned something from it. How old are you, 13.?
 
nazi jokes aren't taken lightly, so just be careful who you say jokes too, and that they understand its not coming from a place of hatred.

My friends and i tell racist jokes all the time, but its all in good fun,

our main problem is finding a good white joke.

but if i said that to my good friends they would laugh..
but if i said that in a larger group of people that i wasnt as familiar with, then yes, i might expect some of them to not find it funny.

i dont understand how most people who were'nt even in the Holocaust still think of it as something they experienced...you made a joke and no one laughed so what,your not racist...and thats good...family guy does it all the time...your good..u did nothing wrong and I'm black...

I'm not really sure how that's a joke. It doesn't sound like a joke since it isn't funny. It can be taken as hurtful by some if you're not careful. You might think about apologizing for what you said.
 
No, it doesn't make you a racist. Some jokes are simply inappropriate, though.
