Am I ready to own a horse?

I'm thirteen, and I've been riding for nearly 3 years. I jump cross rails. I work at the stable where I take lessons, and i can tack, untack, groom, ect.. pretty well. Neither one of my parents has experience with horses, and i have a younger sister with less experience than me, but she reads and knows some about horses, so if i owned a horse, i'd be pretty much on my own. I know the basics of horse ownership, but I don't know a ton about the deatails, such as health problems (other than collic and minor cuts). I think I'd learn more if I owned a horse. I don't think my family is in a good financial position to own a horse, but before I think about this seriously, I want to know if I'm ready... Please give me your feedback, and what I can do to become a more compitant horse-person.
