Am I wrong if I think that all online people I've met are not genuine ?

I have a reason for thinking so , 99% of them lie. including me, I don't tell my real name, where I come from, or many other things to keep my privacy.
 
yep, they all lie, maybe not all are serious lies. Like someone might increase or reduce his/her age a little. I mean u don't know who u are chatting with so why give every single detail of your life? That won't be wise
 
hmmm and you are asking this Q online itself :) Well I guess yes people lie. But it's nothing wrong if you don't want to reveal your personal informations. Infact it's better not to reveal.
 
it is the game in which u have to play wisely and with precaution since this world is full of pwople who take one medium or the other to fullfill their needs and no matter what they will not leave any stone unturned to get the thing they want ,,,, by hook or by crook ..... So please be wise and precautious ... while revrlaing your identity online since this is the world where the technology is going to decide our fate and future .....All the best ....!!!
 
I think a lot more people are honest than 99%, but it's always best to watch your back and be prepared, so there's nothing wrong with this mindset. Better safe than sorry!
 
i think most people lie on here haha
to be 100% honest though i have never lied about my age or where i come from etc ... mind u i dont give specific details but i dont lie about it ... i can honstly say for al the answers i give or ask i am but i think 96% of people are not ahha
and i mean its the internet you haveee to be careful, i would never give out personal info !
 
There is a difference between lying & being (cyber)smart. Keeping your private datas private is not lying. I would be worried if you are telling your real name, your tel number or even your address to anyone whom you don't know on the internet.

Lying is done deliberately. E.g: When someone says to another that he is single when in fact he is married & is only looking for a sexual fling.
