Anyone excited about "The Vampire Diaries" T.V. series?

I'm a Twilight fan and have heard "The Vampire Diaries" is really good if you like Twilight. I have not read the books yet but the concept seems interesting. As long as the guys are hot.

Don't watch the show unless you believe in superficial teens and bad acting. Why is every vampire book/movie a love story? And a crappy one at that. One look in the hallways at the highschool the characters go to and you'll know that the makers of the show have never seen a real teenager. Every single person I saw were tall, beautiful in every way, obviously a model with no acting talent whatsoever, and completely fake. This and Twilight p*ssed me off. High school is nothing like that. You hardly ever get with the person you're crushing on, heck the majority of the time, they don't even know you exist. Teenagers aren't perfect, long legged models by the way. Just thought I'd say that.
