Anyone know what it could be when you have a whistle or whining sound when

you press on the gas accelerator? I have a 2008 ford sport trac adrenaline. I hear a whistle or whining sound when i press on the gas for a couple of seconds. The sound is similar to the sound of when you turn the air on or off of the closing or opening of the vents. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

I knew a guy once who kept hearing a rattle. It turned out there was a little piece of paper stuck behind the plastic grate that covered his speaker.

Maybe you have a little debris in your ventilation intake.

its ok just air whistling throgh the resonator but mabye check it if you have recently chaged your air filter

in my old Taurus SHO, the intake system was pretty loud, and when you hit the gas, you could hear the air rushing passed the throttle plate. it's not a bad thing in any way, it's jsut louder than most other engines.

i have a volvo and for a long time it would whistle and we could never figure out what it was, until we took it to a shop that actually knew what they were doing and it turned out there was somthing in the catalytic converter that cam loose and made a whistling noise ha
