Anytime i open ares my internet connection fails and i cant connet help?

I have ares 2.1.16 or something like that and anytime i open it my internet connection fails and i have to get up go towards my router disconnect and connect it and wait till i have internet, ps i have my firewall deactivated help? p.s.s i have already tried limewire >.> it does not find as much music as i would like so yeah ;P
