I'm taking AP Literature at school but to cut the long story short - it's practically going to be a self-study course
However, according to plan, my class will be reading the following books: Heart of Darkness, Brave New World, Oedipus the King, Death of a Salesman, Jane Eyre, Equus, and The Merchant of Venice.
Are these good (i.e. interesting) books that will be useful on the exam? I'm in my senior year at high school, and I'm a little worried about the exam. I heard it's recommended that one knows 4 books really well. Are any of the books above suitable (which ones would you recommend to know by heart by the end of the year), and somewhat easy to remember? I usually have a hard time remembering books that I found really dull, and Heart of Darkness seems a little like that.
Oh lastly, do you have any advice on the course? Although I guess I'm a good writer, I'm really worried about this course, since I have to get at least a 4 :S I bought the Cliffs Notes and PR prep books, but I just need some feedback! Thank you so much in advance!
