Applied for Fiance Visa and my fiance works on a cruise ship out of Florida....?

My fiance is orginally from the UK and currently holds a B2 visa. He works on a cruise ship and we are not sure if he is able to continue work through the K-1 visa process, since he enters the usa ports weekly on the ship. Even though he does not "live" in the usa we own a home together where he is currently allowed to stay up to 4months at a time on his visa. If anyone has information on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
Thanks for the answers, and he does not hold a c-1 d...or which ever the "crew" visa is. He has more stay time with his B2. It is extremely confusing! We obvioulsy want to make sure he will be able to continue work through the process as his income is our main household income.
I've never asked this question before and believe me it is not possible for him to be working illegally, there is nothing illegal about what he is doing or he would not be permitted to enter and leave the us freely, he is a high ranking officer onboard. Thank you to everyone for your answers anyways, we were trying to go about the process w/o legal help but looks like we may have to go that route.
 
There is no reason he can not continue work. He should have no trouble entering with the crewmember D visa. He might, however, be denied entry on the B-2 visa if he were to do so with the intent to wait for the K-1 visa.
 
If he were on a B-2 he could get married and adjust his status. Working on a cruise ship he should be on a C/D-1 and that does not allow him to adjust status.

To process a K-1 he'd need to be in the UK.

Well, if he's got a B-2 you can get married and he can adjust status, however, he cannot leave the USA while this process is going on.

If he goes to the UK, gets a K-1, comes back and gets married he still cannot leave the USA while in the process of adjusting status.
 
I know pretty much everything, but here I'm at loss, as the K-1 would be activated upon entry. Also, crew members have a different visa (C1-D) then a B2, which also does not allow for AOS.

P.S.
If he enters US soil with his K-1 visa, it will be activated. After that he cannot leave until you guys got married and the AOS application has been approved. That will take months. Here's my suggestion: get married in the US, then file a CR-1 visa for him instead. Once that's approved, he will set foot on US soil as a resident, getting his Green Card. Until the CR-1 is approved, he can enter with the B2.
