Apps wont download or update on my android phone?

I did a factory reset on my phone this morning (Sony Xperia U) and now no apps will download or update on my phone.
A message saying '____ could not be downloaded due to an error.(Error retrieving information from the serve)'
It was working fine before the factory rest. I am connected to wifi and am downloading apps I had earlier.
Please help?

restore your phone. you can find out how-to tutorials online. there might be a software for that made by Sony.

restore, and install jelly bean....

and then access Google Play and so on.
