My tank is 29 gallons, so any tall plants wont work for me. My fish will all be fine with the plants, so that is not a worry of mine.

Name me some plants to go on the bottom of the tank (like a carpet) Java moss just turned brown when I had it. I really do not know why!

Now I need some plants for the middle. I know Java Ferns are common, but I didn't have much luck with it either!

Now I need tall plants for the back and sides. I had hornwort before, and it grew like a weed!

I have special substrate with plant "stuff" with it already, so I figured it'd be cool to put some plants in! Help!
A normal flourecent bulb. I will probably upgrade to some plant centered bulb a little later on
Ok, Bob, you don't know what you're talking about. I said newbie to plants, not fish. I know to go to my LFS instead of Petsmart. I have raised fish for 14 years out of my 17 year old life span, so I know exactly what substrate I bought, not what the people told me to get. It's called Eco-Complete. And it comes with very beneficial bacteria. And as for Java Moss; you can't honestly say that Java Moss needs lots of light? ha what a joke. I think every single souce I've read, has said that Java Moss is one of the most easy plants to grow, because of it's lack of needed light.
