You always hear about celebrities like "Sir Elton John" or "Sir Ben Kingsley," but I've heard that the only time you can use the title "Sir" or "Dame" is if you have the GBE or KBE (or DBE, like Judi Dench). So should we really be calling these celebrities "Sir," or is that wrong?
