I am a Christian and my best friend just told me he is gay,,,,but I was wondering if Christians are against gays as my other Christian friend is like you can't except that...But I want to?? So are they?

It shouldn't matter if you religion is against it, it sohuld matter what you think is right or wrong, if you still want to be their friend then do it, if you can't handle a gay friend then thats your problem, don't use religion as an excuse.

I am a Christian - I have nothing against people who are gay or not gay.

God made them. God made me. What is the problem ?

I hope to raise my children to accept everyone as an equal. This is a gift my Mom gave me.

Peace.

You're suppose to see Christ in everybody as a Christian. That means you're suppose to love everyone unconditionally in the way that you would love Jesus.

Christ is against sin, and so those that would follow Him must also be; and there is no compromise nor accommodation for sin with Christ. Christ also is merciful, giving the sinner their chance to repent and reform their life; but it is voluntary.

You should read into the history of the Bible. It has taken many forms and in the earliest I believe there are gay couples in the book. The bible does not seem to discriminate against homosexuals in old editions.

It's up to you to research it and to decide what is most logical, not which is most convenient for your current situation.

Only the ignorant Christians.... Like the one above me.

Edit:

The book of Leviticus also says that any child who curses his father or mother should be put to death... Now, if we're going to follow one rule, shouldn't we follow all? And how many of you would be screwed?

i think that christians are against gays.. one good example, adam lambert is clearly the better singer in american idol. But he became the runner up, bacause of the christians...

Some Christians may be...but Christianity is NOT against anyone per se.

While God teaches us that homosexuality is a sin. God also teaches us to love and pray for those who are afflicted or living in sin. The common saying is to hate the sin, but love the sinner.

I too have friends who are gay, atheist, etc. But I do not stop being their friend simply because of their sins or non-belief. Rather, I continue to love them, pray for them, and try to help them.

Remember that according to God's Holy Bible...we are ALL sinners in need of God's love and salvation. Jesus loves and died for ALL sins of ALL of us.

Not all Christians, just the ones who are too ignorant to understand the message of Jesus -- we shouldn't judge.

as a christian yes we should be in the bible it says

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what it detestable. They must be put to death. -Leviticus20:13

but its up to you and the free will god gave you to make your choice on how you go about it

Christians love gays but hate the act of being gay. But if a gay doesn't commit the homosexual act he isn't gay, so how can a Christian claim he loves gays? He can't. He can only claim to love a person who isn't gay. Confusing, isn't it?

Oh, yeah...

(But that's because they're closet Christian gays who turn their own misguided dislike of themselves onto others and use the religion to spread dissent and loathing about alternative lifestyles...

...and they don't understand with a sense of lurid humor that what two or three or more adult people do in the privacy of their kitchen floor is nobody's business...)

I'm Hetero, myself, but even I see the "civil rights violation" of not letting gays marry...if you freed the slaves and gave women the vote, you have to free the gays, too...I'm juss sayin...
