Are Hot Rod Enclosures any good alone?

Are Fender Hot Rod Enclosures any good by themselves? I see on the site that they work with a bunch of other amps, but how are the alone?

For the record, I have an Epiphone Les Paul, 3 pickup custom. Thanks for any help you can give.
