Are Mitsubishi Lancers good cars?

I'm looking at a 2008 Lancer ES.
It's got about 40,000 miles on it...which in my opinion is good considering that I live in Houston, Texas (people here normally drive about 15,000-20,000 miles per year).
Anyways are they good cars?
 
Theyre cheap and nasty. That said, they are as reliable as any car in the price range, they are fuel efficient and its easy to get parts for them. I would lean towards a Corolla myself if I were in the market, but a Lancer is a reasonable competitor.
 
If you really want a good car go for something japanese made if you want something thats drinks gas like water get a car from GM!! a lancer is cool if you put mods on it but if you like it buy it
