To anyone who just watched TUF and saw the Nahm Phan vs Michael Johnson fight, are takedowns being overscored? Johnson couldn't do anything with his takedowns. He actually took more damage on the ground than Phan, but yet two takedowns where he laid on Phan and preceded to get bashed by elbows won him the fight? While on the ground in the final round, Johnson didn't even throw any punches and took the majority of the damage. Takedowns give a superior position, but yet if you can't do anything than they just cause a break in the action. Besides the first round, which was close, the better fighter between the two was clear with Phan doing basically all the damage.
