are the brand boss for subwoofers and amps a good brand? because?

i found a website, http://www.sonicelectronix.com, and they sell the brand "boss" for very cheap. and i was thinking "hm maybe this isn't a very good brand or something" because i look at JL audios subs and amps and there a whole lot more then the brand boss. So i was thinking maybe they break down alot? could anyone tell me what brands to start looking at and why
