Are there any Android apps that I can use to connect to my PC remotely?

Just looking to connect my tablet to my PC. Free is best but if you know of a cheap one that would be fine
I am open to payment
 
TeamViewer will allow you to control your PC from afar (you'll need to load TV on the PC, of course)
 
What your looking for is called a VPN or Virtual Private Network. It allows you to set up your own IP to access your files on a specific computer that you've installed the software on all from your Droid device.
Panda Pow is one that I've used before. It is easy to use and does a great job
