When you buy a pre-hung door, it comes with hinges that are perfectly mortised, and even the place where the door latch goes is perfectly mortised. But on a slab door, I have to do that all myself, and the only tool I have is a hammer and chisel. It comes out looking very rough, like a hack job. What kind of tool does the factory use for mortising the hinges and door latch areas? How much would this cost to buy?
