Are there free texting apps using wifi for android phones?

When I was with T-Mobile I had a G1 but I switched to Boost Mobile because I didn't have service where I was living. So I don't have service on my G1 anymore but I was wondering if they have free texting apps on android phones that you can use with wifi?
I'm looking for one that you can text other people on that DON'T have the same app.
