Are there mma type tournaments in the military let's say: Army, Marines?

Marines don't offer it. But like the first contributor said you can do it on your own accord out in town. But be advised your command will not have sympathy towards your "tournaments" because the military comes first. MMA is not recognized by the USMC as a military sport....... yet.
 
The Army has an annual combatives tournament for Soldiers with modified MMA rules at Fort Benning, GA every year. they just had it a few months back and you can catch it on ESPN2 late at night or morning time if they just happen to show it. Different posts have tournaments with modified rules (no closed fists, elbows etc). Hawaii's Schofield Barracks used to have MMA type tournaments for the Soldiers. It was organized through respective Brigades or Battalions and sometimes the MWR division would host them. I couldn't tell you which posts specifically but they are out there.
