Are time travel and all the gadgets we see in films real?

There must be some truth to this. For example, when they do a film with time travel in it they still have to follow certain rules for it to make sense. If time travel wasnt real then they wouldnt have to do this. But they do. And if they dont there will be an uproar and scientists everywhere would be saying it makes no sense. These things must be working somewhere or atleast have been tested and almost worked for the rules to exist
 
No. But enjoying SF requires you to suspend disbelief. Good SF does this by making as much as possible of the story to be good and correct science. The characters all respond to the fictional 'science' just as they do to the real science. That helps you suspend disbelief. If everything is bizarre and meaningless, then it's slapstick instead of SF. Time travel is such a cool and useful story tool that it's hard to resist using it. That doesn't make it real.
 
you are 100% correct,just yesterday i traveled in a time machine,went to ancient greece,met with pluto,the maker of time machine asked me to keep it a secret so i cannot tell more than this.
 
No they make it up as they go along its not the real world so they can use artistic licence.
You could draw a picture of a man with 3 heads it doesnt mean such a thing exists outside of you picture. well time travel in films is much the same thing.
 
Yes, that's exactly how it works. Also, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, magic, leprechauns, dragons, zombies, Godzilla, warp drives, laser pistols, etc., are all real things that exist.
 
Oh come on now......Almost nothing you see in movies is real, that's why they make a movie about it, because it can't happen in real life. Geez
 
You posted in wrong forum. This is a science forum. You need to be in entertainment forum. You posted here intentionally also. Other wise, you would cited those "rules" you mention. Honey, get yourself a box of popcorn and a softdrink and mosey on over to where movies and science fiction is discussed. This isnt the place for it.
