...altima? i just had a new knock sesor and a part of my exausht re-welded and then about 5 hours my engine light came back on and its saying its the cadilac converter and will that cause bad gas mpg's thanks for the help
i have checked for how much the part cost and it was around 180 but was wondering about installation

Try looking in a small local (not the chain places) muffler shop. I found one for my car for only $180 fully installed. I lived in Oregon at the time.

The catalytic converter for a 2000 Nissan Altima costs $700 without labor. You'll probably be looking at another $200 or so for that.
