I am looking to buy the above car and when I initially approached the dealer I got advice from some of you on Yahoo!answers which was useful, so hopefully now i'm close to signing on the dotted line you can offer your opinions again.
The car:
Audi A3 2.0 T Fsi S Line
Full Leather
Ipod prep
19000 miles
06(2006) model
Avus silver
1 owner.
Right the price on the window was £15,000. This is top book price according to a Glass's car valuation which i paid for. (Cars up in the north of Scotland are generally a little more expensive than down south purely because there is not as much readily available stock)
Im trading in my current car which is:
Audi A3 1.6 SE
X(2000) model
5 door
70,000 miles
approx trade in value according to parkers is £1600.
NOTE: The cars ABS, traction control etc is not working and loads of warning lights are on. The garage said it needs a new ABS management unit and parts which in total comes to £2050 to sort.
The deal:
I managed to get the garage to give me £2500 for my car, and got the price of the new car down to £14750.
This includes a full MOT, Full service, a years tax, years Audi manufacturer warranty, new mats, a refurbed alloy wheel, free breakdown cover etc.
I sat with the salesman and the manager yesterday for about an hour trying to get a bit more off but they refused to budge insisting the deal was as good as they could do on that car. I walked away and haven't heard from them in 2 days so im guessing that's the deal, end of story.
Think i should go for it?
