actors come from Neighbours? Why is it that a majority of famous Australians in the entertainment business come from the soapie Neighbours?
For people in other countries Neighbours is an Australian soap which is popular in obviously Australia, but also somewhat in britain, its centralised around a street where some people live, but like in most Australian soaps characters are continuously kicked out or killed off and new ones come in.
Anyway, its come to my attention for a while now that most notable singers and a few actors have come from this show. My main examples are Kylie Minogue and Jesse Spencer who plays Dr. Chase on house (though he might be from another Australian soap). There are loads of others that have become more famous in britain e.g. Holly Valance, but not anywhere else and then there is also about 50 less famous ones that have short 1 music album careers in Australia.
Anyway, why do most of these people come from Neighbours? Its so easy to get a part on Neighbours, you can basically walk up to the producers and get a scene in the background, I know a woman who got a few lines over two episodes with no previous acting experience. It makes no sense how any of the actors become popular...
