Average healing time for stitches on my chin?

I got a mole removed on my chin about 4 months ago, it was only 3 stitches. I still have a bump on each side of the stitches. My dermatologist said they were supposed to go down. But it's been 4 months already!! How long should this take?

put some vitamin e cream on the scar.. but it could take up to 12 months for the scar to settle. If the scar doesnt settle and your not happy with it go back and see you doctor you may need it surgically tidied up as sometimes we can keloid scar (thick type of scarring). Good luck
