Baby Einstein DVD's? Does your LO like them? Do they work? Whats the best one to buy?

I used them for my girls as of 3 months old. My first daughter loved them, the second one doesn't enjoy the ones for babies but she loves the ones for 9m+ they are more interesting. Personally, I don't like the ones for 0-6m they make me dizzy too much going on for no reason. The later ones at least are teaching them colors, shapes, words etc....I suggest you get the ones for older kids, my baby's favorite right now is baby Van Gogh

For age I'd say any baby till they find the movies boring .But I don't know if it's actually good for kids to be watching movies at young ages .
 
My LO is 9 months and she will watch a bit of TV a day has done since about 3 m/os. She doesn't really pay any attention to Baby Einstein though and there is no proof that it makes baby smarter or anything like that - I find she prefers the style cartoons like My Friends Tigger and Pooh (not the original Winnie the Pooh cartoon but the new one), Mickey Mouse Club House and any cartoons that are done in the same style. Those are the ones that seem to catch her attention.

Never more then about 30 minutes to an hour a day and don't expect the baby to sit there and watch an entire program either cause they wont but they might watch bits and pieces of it in between playing with you :). I usually have the TV on first thing in the morning for a cartoon or two whilst we are having breakfast.. I find it helps occupy her while I'm getting the breakfast and her first bottle ready she will watch some of the TV in between playing boo with me around the furniture and such :)
 
They don't work - in fact, there was a class action suit against Disney because children who watched it were shown to have developmental delays in the areas that Baby Einstein purported to develop. Disney settled and had to refund the money to parents who complained. Now they aren't allowed to put "educational" on the packaging.

The American Academy of Pediatrics advises against ANY television before age 2. The whole world is entertaining enough to a 4 month old, and she's learning the most from her interactions with people.
