went to the dentist and clearly told them I want my tooth pulled. When it comes to bad tooth aches I am not playing with these, I do not have time so I want them OUT of my mouth I will live. I havent been to a dentist since I was 16 years old (had 2 teeth pulled in the back) now im missing 3. NO pain. Ever since I got pregnant which I am 6 months now, I have the WORST tooth ache ever and it is kind of in the back but if it were to get pulled and I smile hard, its kind of notocable but that is the LEAST of what I care about because it hurts so bad, Now they tell me that I am going to get a root canal done (let me remind you that I am pregnant) and they said I am "too young" to lose this tooth. First of all, he didnt explain to me that this was going to take more than one appointment! Pissed off about that as we speak I feel like this job is half done. Second, he sends me on my way and say I cant even take a pain pill because of my pregnancy and come back next week! SO pissed off!! If I would have known this would happen I would have said either you pull the tooth out or ill say screw it until after my pregnancy (because NOW im in even worse pain than before) I would have delt with it for another 3 months!! I feel like the dentist wasnt really trying to deal with me crying while the procedure was being done, So he stopped and said come back next week and take TYLENOL! I am one who can NOT survive off of tylenol when it comes to pain like this! I believe he intended on getting the work done in one day but all of a sudden said "take this antibiotic and come back next week" !! Don't you think a better dentist would have ONE: explained to me what was Going to happen, Could happen, and what Could go Wrong (especially since I am pregnant) TWO: Since I needed to take this antibiotic for the infection go down, don't you think this WHOLE process should have waited until next week anyways???
At least he could have given me SOMETHING to decide!! This is the worse dental experience I have ever had and it sucks even more that this has to happen while im pregnant! I feel like he just did what HE wanted on HIS own time without giving me enough word on what. And I was stupid enough to let him because I put my trust in a dentist which I will NEVER do again!! This hurts!!!

I basically just need words of advise to make me feel better I guess.
I posted this question on the RIGHT section the first time and deleted it because of stupid a** immature people saying "YOU ARE SEXY" wtf!

Someone is cranky!

:) oh well. it makes my day to ruin others. CHILL. It's yahoo answers. What do you expect?

i no how u feel. i had a horrible tooth ache in the first trimester and i went to the dentist and he was like wow we need to get this out this tooth is bad..he wanted to pull it that day but i wanted to wait a couple days due to arrangements with a babysitter and stuff for the other child. the dentist perscribed me tylenol with codeine. if you talk to your ob they will tell u what pain meds u can take and ones u cant. my friend got perscribed percocet while pregnant. good luck hope u get it out soon..i wouold seen another dentist tho

"Someone is cranky!".. Hello ! She is PREGNANT. And has tooth pain.

But I'm sorry that's going on ! Sometimes I don't think dentists understand just what pregnancy and that sort of pain feels like all at once (I didn't get along with my orthodontist when I got my braces off, but nor did I care at 8 months pregnant). Just think, it WILL be over soon. :)

Although, you should probably say something to him about how the process went. It should've actually been discussed before anything was put into your mouth, like a consultation.

I feel your pain, I cant deal with toothaches either, some dentists refuse to pull a tooth if it can be saved especially since your young. If your not happy with this go to another dentist and let him know you just want it pulled. Im 37 and couldnt deal with toothache pain, all my top teeth were so bad I only had like 7 left..so I just had them pulled and now I have a top denture, so much better..Call your dentist and tell him you need something stronger, you can safely take loratab while pregnant and this helps alot better than just tylenol

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

When I was around 8 weeks pregnant ( 34w,4d now ) I developed excruciating tooth pain. It hurt so bad it would make me cry. A lot. I took Tylenol Extra Strength and it eased the pain to the point that it went away. I followed the directions on the bottle and never took more then 4 a day. But while this was all happening and me taking 4 pills a day, most days, I knew that I was uncomfortable with the idea of popping pills while pregnant. So one night in my 13th week of pregnancy, the pain was more then I could handle. So I called an emergency dentist at like 10pm. He told me he could help me but I would have to pay the after hours fee etc. And then he told me to come in in the morning. I went in the morning and he pulled the teeth that were infected and 2 more. He asked me if I wanted more work done on them, like put in fake teeth and I was like no. I will get that done when I am done being pregnant.
But he did charge more then the standard dentist would and it ended up costing us 250 bucks more. So he was a greedy one, who charged far more then he should of.

You can take Tylenol Extra Strength. And it worked for me to deal with the pain.
