...........how many of you truly believe that people who are are atheist and say god either is responsible for EVERYTHING or is responsible for NOTHING, ero, making him responsible for the good AND the bad, are afraid to , do not, and can not take responsibility for their own life,
actions, thoughts and views?

and why do you beleive this to be so when you cant and dont know these people?
kuulio....

why did you answer again?
im not asking YOU am i?
im asking the y/a community
think what you want dear, i asked a question , which is what this place is for
is it not?
Jamie m…

Maybe, because soemoen who thinks rationally and realistically thinks that if you are a creator of all, and you did create it all, and are credited for al lthe good of it, then maybe, you are also credited with the bad?

why is it considered blame, whens its negative, and credit when its good?
doesnt that appear to be selective to you?

as it does to anyone who says that its responsible for both
and jamie m...
did you ever consider that maybe its not "blame" but theory, that IF a god did exist, then he IS responsible for both
and this theory is stated BECAUSE beleivers say otherwise?
and jamie m that....

its a "conversation"?

i am capable of talking about things i dont beleive in as if they did exist, its called hypothesis, and discussing things to people about something you dont necessarily agree with

or are you only capable of talking to people who agree with eveyrthing you believe about everything you beleive and never talking outside your own views?
muhammed ;-)
nice to see you today

I agree , theres noting at all wrong in accepting and being able to admit something which is just kind of common sence, because it seems a bit controversial to some,or something some cant contemplate

We are always searching for the answers ourselves really ;-)

I agree, you probably do learn more self growth in the ‘bad’ times, but good timescan teach you just as well
But, either way, if its about learning, we often need a helping hand to find our way, and for many god just isn’t there for that

But, in reality, if we do something bad, its our responsibility, if we do something good, its our credit, same for pets, same for anything, I just don’t see why this ‘god’ is excluded from this, tht doesn’t make any sence to exclude it in that way

and we as a race are not failing, we are coming apart
any good parent knows when its time to step in and give your child the support and care they need
Well roger,

the thing is, it’s the fact that every time the q is asked many answers from Christians say the same thing, so it doesn’t appear to be a minority, that’s why I asked the q, 1 or 2 people I ignore, but when a whole listt, of answeres one after the other agree on that, I think theres a problem to be tackled and dealt with

I appreciate your answer and your honesty, but if you saw all the answers, in more than one q asked about this, youd see that it’s a bit more than the odd person

;-)
lan ;-)

As I said in my q
Its NOT “blame”

This is what im trying to explain to people who believe it is

Is a logical conclusion to a discussion about god between 2 people, 1 a believer one a non believer

And, when we do say anything its in a conversation WITH a believer ABOUT god, so of course we will discuss it,
Im open to discussing all things,

As I said in my answer, I can still talk, theorize, discuss and debate about things I don’t necessarily agree with the person im debating, discussing and theorising with

No one can say they agree on everything with everyone they talk to, so we often discuss things we don’t “believe in” or agree with

So , in response to a believer saying he credits god with the good, but not to blame for the bad, we then converse with them saying our views on that claim

its rather simple
its a conversation, a hypothetical
a discussion, talking

I dont really understand your question...
how can atheists place blame on something they dont even believe in?

I think all people have problems with accountability as it were, not just atheists...although there does seem to be a VERY high number of atheists with inferiority complexes...

but...im sorry, i REALLY dont understand your question.

Edit*******************
So youre saying that you spoke with someone who credits God for the good but not the bad? And you disagreed with that?

Well, why not say so in the first place lol

ehhh, i can see their point. I dont agree with them, but I can still sympathize with them.

As an atheist I am responsible for my own actions and well being. PERIOD.

Since I don't believe in god I don't believe in Satan, therefore the EXCUSE that I was tempted to misbehave because DEMON was stronger than I am is not existent.

God and satan are both beings to hide behind, if you choose to use them that way.

Hi frou frou, long time no see.....

Well, I believe atheists say the truth when they say they don't believe in any god or deity. And when they say if there is a God, He should be the source of everything good and bad, I say its a very good point, a very logical point.

Personally, I don't know why we are supposed to credit everything good to Him, but not anything bad. I'm not blaspheming, I'm just wondering, even though I am a theist.

You might remember I asked something like this quite a long time ago, with no satisfactory answer. That means I'll just have to search for the answer myself.

Is there are person we are supposed to believe has said, "atheists do not and cannot take responsibility for their own life."? If so, why don't you take this up with that person?

I think you maybe paying too much attention to the vocal minority. As a Christian myself, the person(s) you describe sound, at best, dysfunctional, at worse, delusional.

I find it stunning how many Christians look upon God as some sort of cosmic conceirge. And I also see many atheists thinking that lots or most Christians believe this, too.

The truth of the matter is, the majority of Christians do not believe God is the Big Sugar Daddy. I am responsible in ALL aspects of my life. I could really screw it up if I wanted to...

My point is, I'm here to tell you differently than what you've written above. But I understand how you'd come to thing it.

peace

Personally I do not feel or think this way but I can understand why some do....with so many people out there ready to sue for the smallest infraction, looking to get ahead by whatever means, and blaming parents, schools, and government for their faults..... it would be easy to assume that is the general conscious. I try to get to know a person and let their actions and words show me who they are, though my snap judgment is seldom wrong, I like to find if it is the truth.

As to God being either all or nothing...well do you learn more in the good or the bad times? He is there to help us grow and learn and some lessons take hard times, he/she is a great parent and willing to let us fail so we can become great.

May you be blessed.
