its for homework! i need to write an a4 page of the advantages and disadvantages of the government introducing a dna database for everyone.

you lose all freedom when the government gets to own your dna

benefits... well i cant think of any real ones. but your teacher would probably like to hear "ease of determining such things as paternity, genetic disease, identity of the dead, identity of first time offenders where dna is found" and im sure there are a couple more, but you could write a whole 1 1/2 pages on that. i would reserve the 2 1/2 pages for an expanded version of the following: "not assuming the governments complicity in crimes committed using available dna information, such things as tracking people, linking dna to assets in banks, property, eugenics (the practice of "breeding" better qualities into people by killing inferior ones or refusing them the "privelage" of procreation) and the like are completely possible and not unfounded fears. also, trading of this information as a commodity, much like telemarketers trade identities and phone numbers of people, is also not just possible, but likely." also to be included by you are the "lesser" crimes of framing anybody with the information available. but the long sentence in quotations should be the main focus of the disadvantages, of course expanded for the report to fill the rest of the pages. if you run out of ideas too soon you could include a summary of this in the form of "in light of these prospects, i find it startlingly obvious that the disadvantageous risks far outweigh the potential benefits of such a program." of course, greatly expanded to fill the pages. stick to this and you will get an A.
