i don't listen to rap, so bass isn't super important, hence a separate subwoofer/amp isn't necessary. but i still want the best bass possible. i listen to metal/rock/jazz if it helps. usb hookup for ipod necessary. my dad had polk speakers 2-way speakers with some nice deck and it sounded great. problem is nobody sells them nearby so i'm going through best buy. anyway if you could give me a couple possible set ups, the more the better, or even a couple links to something on bestbuy.com
so what i'm basically looking for is a nice deck with usb ipod hookup and 4 exceptional speakers that can give me great quality and the best possible bass without subs.
the more the merrier. thanks...

any deck with usb will work.. but you need aux more then usb cause some ipods/decks wont work with just the usb.... as for speakers... i had 2 4 inch pionners i got from walmart for like 30 bucks and then 2 jl 6x9s for 50 from a friend.... even with just that it sounded like i had a ten

You should be able to get something decent from Wal-mart. Since you want to be cheap I advise you stick with Pioneer. You will be amazed at what a set of 10 or 12 subs will do to a factory system. I use factory speakers in all of doors or dash. What happens when add some good bass speaker to the system is that the sound waves from the subs will amplify the sound waves from the defaults. When waves of similar frequency mix they add together and amplify. Besides when it comes to metal you get to hear sounds you never heard before in a song. Ozzy, Zombie, and Korn all sound completely different, but all for the better. It gets even better though if you listen to hardcore bands like Born of Osiris, Whitechaple, and Mastodon.
