...avi movie on a 4.7 gb disc? ps: without the use of dvd shrink like power2go but quality is bad on power2go and i cant trim the movie

There is no way of doing that.
The DVD burner doesn't determine how much space there is on a disc, the disc itself determines that.
DVD's have a set limit of 4.7GB, no matter what brand you use.

If the movie is set to a high screen res, lower it... that will reduce the size of the movie.

Nope. The size shall always remain the same but it also depends on the quality of the AVI file...
