Best father-son international week long hiking/backpacking trip?

My dad and I are planning a hiking/backpacking trip and need some suggestions on the best places to consider visiting. We're looking for something with moderate difficulty and amazing scenery located anywhere in the world. Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks

Personally, I think New Guinea is lush. In the United States, I enjoyed living among the bears of Katmai, Alaska, except for the rain forest weather. For the sunny weather of Colorado, I think that Holy Cross Wilderness Area or Maroon Bells or Collegiate Peaks or Gore Range are all superb.
