Best Games for Xbox/PS2?

I have a birthday coming up and wanted to get a general idea on what the best/favourite games for either consoles are. Don't really want shooters such as COD, Halo etc. as I've grown bored of them lately.
I would also appreciate if the game had descent replay value or is long.

I'm the opposite. I love shooters except from Call of duty. Too childish and the kids on their are just pathetic calling each other noobs etc. Try Battlefield 3 if you ever turn back to shooters. If not then maybe racing game such as Need for speed or flying games such as Tom Clancy's Hawks or Ace combat assault Harrison. Assassins Creed 3 is quit fun too, let alone the other ones.
