I have an ipod touch 2g with 3.1.3 firmware and just a few days ago i got it wet in Great America. after a few days all the water was dry and upon turning it on i found a few problems. one: some parts of the touch screen do not function like the parts of the keyboard with the letters Y,B,G. Second: when i connect the headphones to hear music the music plays through the headphones AND the itouch speakers.(i have tried different headphones). i have tried a restore to see if that would help but it did not. and once everything was working perfectly but then returned to this sad state. is there any way that i can fix this? if not is there any way i can get rid of the itouch speakers so i people wont be hearing all the music, if so what are the risks?

Put it in rice for 1+ days and then try it. If it doesnt work call Apple and see what you can do.
Hope this helps, if not try Google (or Yahoo/Bing) Searching your question.

If this ipod is new, then try checking the warranty or something. Go to the store and ask them if they can help you fix it. If this doesn't work, then as we all know, you'll just have to buy a new one.
