best way to find amateur MMA fights?

go to a MMA gym and ask, or search it online, honestly i was surprised when i heard the # of events that where going down in CT/MA area, but local fighters, know when and where shows are happening so that the place i would recommend to look , try searching online if u dont feel like visitng a few gyms,
 
i'm an amateur MMA fighter living in the chicago area. what is the best way to find fights as an independent fighter? also, i'm a chick, so any help you can give in finding female-specific fights would be great. thanks!
 
go to a redneck neighborhood and look in the back yards ..... youll find one soon enough.
