Bittorrent error downloading codec?

I installed bittorrent not too long ago and all the files i downloaded worked fine. However, when i tried to watch them again a week or two later, about half in windows media player said error downloading codec? Why are errors suddenly appearing if the vids worked fine only a week or two ago? Is there anyway to fix this or an explanation?

Not sure. Try downloading VLC Player (plays tons of different vid types that WMP doesn't) from download.com. If VLC doesn't work, you might have gotten a virus or something.
