Guys...i have DELL vostro 1500 with windows xp in it...i bought it 2 yrs ago..and from past 2 yrs i didnt install bluetooth diver in it....i installed it just now...
First i downloaded that particular bluetooth driver from dell website then i unzipped it...it got installed then a box popped out saying "activate ur bluetooth device by pressing Fn+F2"...i did that but no change...
then i searched on net...i got to kno that i shud do something else...then i did this
' Install the driver:
- 1. Execute the file "R140135.exe".
- 2. Open the folder "C:\dell\drivers\R14013500_216".
- 3. Execute the file "Setup.exe".
- 4. When the driver ask you to active your Bluetooth antena, click in "Cancel.
- 5. Open the folder "C:\dell\drivers\R14013500_216\Win32"
- 6. Execute the file "Inst.exe".
- 7. Click in "Next" button to begin the installation.
Note: When the software ask you to active the Bluetooth DO NOT CANCEL.
- 8. Open the folder "C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software"
- 9. Execute the file "BTTray.exe". The icon will appear in the system tray (next the clock).
- 10. Click with the right button in Bluetooth icon and turn it on.
- 11. The installation will continue automatically.
- 12. Click in "OK" button to finish '
Till step 8 it was all okay.. but from 9 it was all same...i executed file BTTray.exe...an icon appeared on sys tray..but by right clicking on it..there was no option too turn it on...it just says...."bluetooth device not found"..i seriously dunno what to do..pls help me...
and also tell me can i install windows 7 on my 2 yr old DELL vostro 1500....pls guys help me out...
