Hi, i have a bmw 318ti 1995 anyway, when i pull away from a stop the car seems to judder "like a pigeon head" it only happens when i accelerate hardish or if i'm pulling away in a rush.
the engine light is off and everything else seems to be fine.
what else could this be? could it be a leak in the vacume pipes or something? i've just had the clutch changed as last one started to slip.
any help or self checks would be great.
regards gary.
Hi, mountains seem fine, plus the car only does it in first gear and there is no engine wobble when i accelerate when the bonnet up.
Hi, thanks for the answers. the rear wheels ain't spinning when i take off and they have about 6mm thread on them. the rear shocks do need changing but i don't think that would cause it..
i just done a test to rev it up hard and let the clutch off to cause the rear wheels to spin but it seems like it wanted to do it, as the wheels span round the engine felt like it wanted to die and then after it picked up as normal.
the judder aint like a wheel spin or anything, its more like a stop and start.. it feels like it wants to take off but then something is stopping it what causes it to judder, like its fighting with something to juist let it free and go..
if any of that made any sense? lol
