I got a new phone in July of 2009, but am not happy with it. Is there a way that I could break my contract and get a different one without it costing a TON of money?? I wondered about the cost and/or if I am eligible for an "upgrade". When are you eligible for one? Thanks for your help!

**I have the Motorola Rival and hope to be able to get the Blackberry 8530. Thanks!

no. i believe now with thier new policy it would cost over $400 to change/cancel your contract.

To cancel it will cost $175 and you can upgrade early. They call it an early upgrade.

Verizon gets you coming and going they are horrible no i switched to at and t and they still r bugging me for money i was an unsatisfied costumer for 3 years

to break your contract and cancel it will cost you $150 right now. You can try buying another phone, but blackberries are expensive. You cant upgrade till after 20 months, and your far away from that. You had 30 days to return it, im sure you would've. If your on a family plan just open another line, you get a phone at 2 year price and just suspend the one with the Rival. You can suspend a line up to 6 months after that you have to call again. You can suspend a line without being charged per month. Thats what we are doing

all of you talking about cancelation fee and what not if he gets a phone from someone or somewere besides verizon its not a breach of contract. you just call them and activate it. CANCILATION is when he cancels verizon as in if he is going to att or something like that.
