bring a nissan skyline to the usa from canada?

i found several skylines i can afford and would love to buy, all in canada for a pretty cheap price. does anyone have a skyline or know anything about bringing the car into the usa? i've been told by a few that you can bring the car across the border on a trailer but cannot drive it until you do a few things to it, can anyone help me out?

Then keep in mind that the Skyline is an illegal import now.

Even if you change the engine drastically, so it passes emissions, get it safety inspected, etc, they can and will still tell you no.

And that's after about $10 grand spent, in import fees, registration fees, safety fees, engine work, etc.

This gets asked on a regular basis, and while everyone is plenty happy researching cars they want, apparently it's too much trouble to research the simple phrase "importing a vehicle" in Google....
