Bt Broadband with torrents?

Hi, i am with Bt Broadband, and i have been downloading some torrents for 'patches' in a mmo beta. However, my brother claims that BT has a policy against torrent users as 90% of torrents are illegal. is he right?
I am not downloading anything illegal, simply some patch's for a game still in development.
 
There is no legal use for torrents.
If BT is one of the ISP's monitoring illegal downloads, you will initially receive a formal legal warning notice. If illegal downloading then continues, your service may be withdrawn.
 
don't you read the news
yes they are illegal.
more and more people are getting caught lately and are receiving
massive fine's so look out.
it's no good saying "Oh but i am just a kid" as it will be the persons who's name is on the bill that will get arrested.
