CD's, DVD's and Bluerays are not magnetic media like tape. The little pits that are burned into the foil are done with the recording laser and then read by the playback laser(s), so a magnet will have no effect on them. The tiny pits absorb (scatter) the read laser and the space between reflexs the beam back to be read. A magnet can't remove the little data pits.
