Can a Motorola Devour with a Bad ESN still be used as a PDA?

All I really need it for is to check Email, facebook, tumblr, and polyvore. It does have wifi, and i don't care to have it activated, i just need a new PDA, seeing as my old palm has officially died. Also can i turn off the motoblur?
