I just bought a new Verizon Alias 2. I wanted to get songs and ringtones on it from my Mac. I can connect the 2 devices, but when I say to "send file" my Mac says,"The target device claims it will not accept a file of the type you are trying to send."
Does this mean it's not compatible with Mac? Do I have to use a PC with bluetooth?

Mac ≠ Samsung

I wrote to Samsung about the same issue. They responded:

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no support for the use of our standard phones with a Macintosh computer, nor does Samsung offer compatible software. The only handsets for which we provide limited support for connection to an Apple / Mac computer are the PalmOS handsets offered for use on the Sprint Network.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this presents.

There may be third party software available that could facilitate this; however, Samsung is unable to offer technical support for third party products and services.

For this reason, we do not have information compiled on possible resources. The suggestion we can offer would be to search the internet to locate an application to suit your needs.

If you are having issues with the use of a specific 3rd party application or service, we recommend contacting the manufacturer of that application or service for compatibility and support assistance.

Do you have more questions regarding your Samsung Mobile Phone? For 24 hour information and assistance, we offer our new FAQ/ARS System - Automated Response System.

We do thank you for your continued interest in Samsung products.

Sincerely,
Technical Support

I THINK THIS TOTALLY SUCKS! WHY DID I BUY THIS PHONE?? I mean, the keyboard is cool and all, but if I can't get any pictures onto my computer then what's the point?
To get music onto your phone use this website: Myxer - Download Ringtones and More

You can email a mobile number with files etc if they're small enough. Go to your service provider or google how to email mobile numbers.
