I am buying a new car .. I want it to be good in the winter (live in northeast), safe, decent gas mileage, and hopefully tow a 17' boat during the summer. The A6 (looking year 2000-2003) quattro seems like a decent candidate. Although the US ratings are 2000 pounds towing, I have read of people towing more - and the European ratings are 1,500 Kg (around 3000 pounds). I know the boat does not weigh more than 3000 for sure, I think its very close to 2,000 pounds. Does anyone have any experience towing with this car?
