Can anyone give me advice on shifting? 2005 GMC Canyon?

I need some shifting tips, i can get around fine especial once i get going at a high(ish) speed. But my truck often jumps when i'm starting into first from a stop and i often cause the truck to jump when just shifting (i think it's due to over revving shifting up and letting the revs drop too much shifting down... maybe?). Anyway i have a 2005 GMC Canyon and i'd appreciate any suggestions/ help. Thanks.

Your correct try shifting in and out of geers faster don't let the rmps fall.
